winamp plugin
Does anyone know of a plugin that will show what song is playing in winamp in your user info and status messages that works with 2.0 beta 5?

This place is quiet
'tis quiet in here, but I'm hoping y'all can offer me some help. Does anyone know how to disable the autocorrect feature that comes with Gaim/ASpell for the beta4? It's driving me insane... I used to like it, but now I can't find the area to access it so I can make changes. Because really? Changing "I'm" to "I'am" does not fix anything. Grrr.... all the help I can find is highly technical, and I'm getting frustrated.

WinGaim File Transfer Issues
Whenever I try to send/recieve a file via my AIM account on WinGaim (latest stable vbuild), it never works. Is this problem common? For those of you that have tried the beta, is this problem addressed?

Thank you so much!

Gaim 2

Have you tried the Gaim 2 beta? If so, what do you think of it?

I decided to backup my “~/.gaim/” directory and try out the Fedora Core 4 rpm. I like what I see so far. The away messages are a lot less cumbersome, as they don’t pop up a window with an “I’m back” button (particularly useful when you are only pretending to be away... *ahem*). There is also a text box beneath the away button, which allows you to enter a custom away (or available) message.

The only thing I don’t like, is the slightly confusing method of choosing a previously saved away status. The chat window looks a bit different too. It lacks the buttons at the bottom (which I never used anyway), and the tab buttons take up the full width of the window. I think it probably just seems strange because it’s new though.

Also, has anyone managed to get the win32 versions (1.5 and 2.0) to work with GTK+ 2.8?

So whats everyone's favorite plugins? I'd list mine but I'm biased. (btw, I would have created a poll but I'm a lowly open source dev that can't afford a paid account :))

How to keep logs for a long time in gaim?
I have recently switched to Gaim (from Psi), and I have a problem: I prefer to keep conversation logs forever, but I can't find an option to do that. Is it possible in Gaim? How do I do it?

Off the record encryption
Hello -- I just wanted to use this opportunity to suggest that you all take a look at the Off The record encryption plugin for GAIM -- which provides several advantages over standard encryption with long-lived keys. There is also a proxy server for non-users of GAIM that can be configured for use by any IM client, thus solving the AIM/GAIM/Trillian/NAIM interoperability problem, while providing superior message security.

Off the record encryption uses a short-lived key negotiated for each session (like trillian), so that if your key is compromised, your past messages (assuming they were logged and intercepted) can't be easily compromised. Additionally, it offers authentication (like GAIM-e, and unlike Trillian).

Read more about it on the page -- and urge your friends to use either the plugin, or the proxy.

Yahoo! Will Not Work
I have the most current version of GAIM (1.1.2 I think it is?) and Yahoo! won't work on it! This all started a while back. There was this version of GAIM where Yahoo! didn't work on it. Well on the next version they said that Yahoo! should be working now. Only it hasn't worked for me since. I keep successfully downloading the new versions but it just won't run Yahoo! for some reason. I've checked my password, and unistalled and reinstalled it. I was just wondering if anyone here could help me get Yahoo! working agin. I'm useing the version for windows. And I have Windows 98. Thanks a bunch!...

Well I've been using gaim for quite awhile and just have a quick question.
I used to have deadaim and when it woud save your logs, even if you closed the IM window all the logs from the same day would be in 1 log with the date on it. But when gaim saves your logs, whenever you close the window, it goes into a different log, even if it's the same day as another one.

I know that I probably just confused you (lol) but is there any way to get gaim to save all your IMs from one day in one log.
Thanks you!

I've been using FC1 a lot recently and totally fallen for Gaim, and I'm thinking it's about time I use it on my XP box too. Only problem is that I can't seem to get it to connect to my MSN account. Says that it can't connect to the server. Any clues what the problem might be?
